The only photographer to shoot album covers for The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and the Who, Russell took some of the most iconic rock photographs during one of the most transformative moments of art and culture.

Arriving at a rare time in London, Russell met Mick Jagger, then John Lennon followed by the Beatles, all of whom liked the young American’s photos, opting to let him into their circle, leaving him alone to capture what was happening, as it was happening. 

Equal parts luck, timing and skill, Russell began creating a visual record ……that continues to captivate over 50-years later.
